Over the past month we have been covering the relationship between sleep and exercise. Today we are going to look at some different forms of exercise that you can incorporate into your daily life that can help you improve your health and help you sleep better.
Even exercising as little as 20 to 30 minutes per day can help you sleep better at night. Each of these exercises can be done in as little as 30 minutes a day and can even be split up during your busy schedule.
Going For A Walk or Run
The more you move the more calories you burn. Going for a walk on your lunch break or taking the stairs instead of an elevator are great ways to keep your body moving and active.
Walking has recently become an even more popular way to control weight with the introduction of the 10,000 steps per day program. By picking up a pedometer you have an easy way of keeping yourself motivated and healthy.
Doing Yard Work
Yard work is a great way to get in a half hour of exercise. Doing work around the yard can burn over 200 calories in a half hour. If you have ever shoveled snow off of your driveway after a big snowstorm, you know that this is a great way to get your exercise in for the day.
Grab a rake, snow shovel, broom, lawn mower or anything else you use to take care of your yard and burn some calories.
