There’s nothing quite like the aroma of a warm cup of chai tea. The thought of it alone is enough to awaken my taste buds, with its comforting creamy texture.

But the bummer about chai tea is that it’s usually made with a ton of added sugar and heavy milk. All of which can really rack up your calorie count and makes it not the best choice for weight loss.

Vanilla Chai IdealShake Recipes

Vanilla Chai French Toast

Ingredients: 

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 slices whole grain bread

Directions: 

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk egg, Vanilla Chai IdealShake, vanilla extract, and almond milk until smooth.
  2. Dip the slices of bread in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides of the bread evenly, and place onto a hot skillet or griddle over medium heat until browned on both sides.
  3. Enjoy with your choice of low-calorie syrup, fruit, etc.

Serves 1. Calories per serving: 295 / Protein 18g / Carbs 36g / Fat 9g

Chai Hot Chocolate

Ingredients: 

  • 1 no-sugar-added hot chocolate envelope
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake
  • 1 c hot water

Directions: 

  1. Mix hot water and hot chocolate powder until combined. Add IdealShake and mix until powder has completely dissolved. Enjoy!

Serves 1. Calories per serving: 150 / Protein 13g / Carbs 20g / Fat 3g

 

Banana Chai Donuts

Ingredients: 

  • 1 c white whole wheat flour
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake
  • 1/4 c coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium banana, mashed
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil

Directions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mix flour, Vanilla Chai IdealShake, coconut sugar, baking powder and salt until combined. Add almond milk, egg, banana and coconut oil. Fill a piping bag or sandwich bag with batter and close. Snip end, and fill donut molds (should fill about 10).
  3. Bake for 10-15 minutes and enjoy!

Makes 10 donuts. Serving size: 1 donut. Calories per serving: 100 / Protein 3g / Carbs 16g / Fat 2g

 

Dirty Coconut Chai

Ingredients: 

  • 1 c unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 tsp. espresso instant coffee mixed with 1 oz hot water
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake

Directions: 

  1. Mix all ingredients together until combined. Pour over ice and enjoy!

Serves 1. Calories per serving: 150 / Protein 11g / Carbs 14g / Fat 7g

 

Maple Vanilla Chai Granola

Ingredients: 

  • 2 c old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 c pecans, chopped
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake
  • 2 tbsp. coconut sugar
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1/3 c melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 c chopped dates

Directions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Combine oats, almonds, Vanilla Chai IdealShake, and coconut sugar. In a separate bowl, mix maple syrup and coconut oil. Pour over dry mixture and stir until just combined. Spread onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes (do not stir or flip granola while baking).
  3. Once cool, break granola apart and add chopped dates. Store in airtight container. Enjoy!

Serves 9. Serving size: ⅓ cup. Calories per serving: 280 / Protein 5g / Carbs 37g / Fat 15g

 

Peach Chai Ice Cream Floats

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz sparkling peach water (zero calories)
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/4 c lite canned coconut milk
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake

Directions: 

  1. In a food processor or high powered blender, blend frozen bananas, coconut milk, and Vanilla Chai IdealShake.
  2. Freeze for 10 or so minutes, until scooping consistency.
  3. Scoop ice cream equally into 2 glasses and top with sparkling peach water. Enjoy!

Serves 2. Serving size: 1 float. Calories per serving: 175 / Protein 7g / Carbs 32g / Fat 3g

 

Pumpkin Chai Smoothie

  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1/4 c 100% canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Chai IdealShake
  • 1 c unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tbsp. fat free whip cream (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add ice, blend, and enjoy!
