Bloat: What It Is and How to Kick It

Do you ever feel bloated and just kind of…gassy? It’s the most uncomfortable feeling and it can really wreck your weight loss goals. If you aren’t feeling your best, you won’t want to keep working out and eating healthy!

What is Belly Bloat?

First things first–I want you to know that if you are feeling bloated it does not mean that you are gaining fat or gaining water weight! That bloated feeling comes from air getting stuck around your abdomen.

You may notice your belly sticking out a little more if you are bloated, and that’s just because of the extra air in your tummy.

A bloated belly comes from air surrounding your abdomen. That’s also where the gassy feeling can come from! Your body wants to release that air around your stomach.

Why Do I Feel Bloated?

There are tons of reasons you could be feeling bloated, but the most common reason is problems with digestion and an unhealthy gut. Junk food and stress also contribute to feeling bloated.

Your body might not be digesting protein correctly, or you might not be fully breaking down sugars and carbohydrates. The bacteria in your gut also plays a big part in feeling bloated.
