Achieving Deep Sleep For Effective Weight Loss

It’s no secret that sleep quality and weight control are closely related. But how many people know the secret to getting a good night’s rest?

As far as I can tell, not many.

If you need to get more out of your zzzzs, our audio program “Deep Sleep” is a great place to start. It’s effective and natural, and it’s designed to help you:

  • Fall asleep faster.
  • Stay asleep longer.
  • Ensure a deep and restful slumber.

Why Does Sleep Matter?

Sleep habits tend to be the last place people look when they’re frustrated with their health and fitness levels. But sleep is a crucial component to a healthy and happy life.

Poor sleep quality chips away at strength, energy, and appearance. It prevents the body and mind from effectively managing weight, hunger, and cravings.

Our IdealShape program “Deep Sleep for Effective Weight Loss” follows the 28-day format of the Brain Training series. David Meine, IdealShape CEO, applies classic hypnosis techniques to relax the mind and make it receptive to deep-rooted positive change.

Sleep and Weight Gain

Body fat.

If waking up refreshed isn’t enough motivation for you to make sleep a priority, knowing that it can help you lose weight might be.

Many studies have shown that sleep and weight are closely related, and it’s always going to be in your best interest to pair a good night’s sleep with any diet and exercise program.

Among other benefits, getting a good night’s sleep can:

  • Curb late night snacking.
  • Help burn more calories.
  • Boost fat loss.
  • Help you make healthier food choices.
  • Encourage portion control.
  • Keep you focused.

Deep Sleep

If consistent fitful sleep is a silent health killer, just think of what consistent deep sleep can do for your body! Restorative sleep acts as an end-of-day cleansing. Rather than letting stress and negativity build up and carry into the next day, sleep lets you hits the refresh button, so you wake up feeling physically and mentally prepared for a new day.

But quality sleep is more than a math equation. It’s not enough to schedule 7-8 hours of shut-eye and head to bed. Ever wake up cranky and tired even after a perfect 8?

Exactly.

How to Achieve Deep Sleep

deep sleepOur “Deep Sleep” audio program teaches your body and mind to turn those 7-8 hours into deep, restorative sleep, not inconsistent, disturbed sleep.

Each night, you’ll progressively learn to:

  • Create new sleep goals that your subconscious mind will adopt.
  • Use sleep as a time to preset positive choices for the next day.
  • Reverse poor nutrition and lack of exercise.
  • Eliminate bedtime rituals that keep you awake.

Too often, we miss out on the true benefits of sleep. Days blend together, and mornings always come too soon. But a good night’s sleep should be the rule, not the exception. Imagine waking up excited, in control, and ahead of your alarm clock. This is the power of deep sleep, and it’s what you should be having every night.

Hypnosis for Deep Sleep

We know the word “hypnosis” might sound a little too new-agey for you, but don’t think of it that way. Think of it as a powerful tool to help you manage your mind and get in touch with yourself and your needs. Think of it as a way to put yourself first and take the best possible care of YOU. Think of it as managed meditation.

But don’t just take our word for it. HealthDay News reported on a study done by Swiss researchers that concluded that hypnosis, specifically listening to a sleep-promoting audio tape, led to more time spent in deep sleep.

The study followed 70 healthy women, aged 18-35, without any known sleep disorders. The women were subjected to five different tests where they would lay in bed listening to an audio tape. Some tapes offered hypnotic sleep suggestions and others offered neutral content. The women were asked to fall asleep either during or after listening to the recording, and were woken up after they spent 90 minutes sleeping.

The study found that women who were highly suggestible to hypnosis “slept 67 percent more and saw their ‘deep sleep’ time rise by roughly 80 percent following exposure to audio hypnosis.”

The research team also suggested that hypnosis boosts deep sleep quantity and may also improve the quality of deep sleep.
