We are thrilled to welcome Debbie Siebers into our IdealShape family! She’s a celebrity trainer and wellness expert with 25 years of experience who has helped hundreds of thousands of people get fit and take control of their health and wellbeing.

She’s sold thousands of copies of her Slim in 6 program and has been in numerous television productions.

Debbie is truly one of the best in the industry and we were fortunate enough to interview her to get to know her better and learn about her approach to weight loss, health, and fitness.

Q: Could you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Debbie Siebers, and I’m a health and wellness expert!

I’m the creator of Slim in 6 and my newest program, Body Dynamix. I currently live in Colorado with my dog, Barney, where I get to explore everything this beautiful state has to offer!

My passion without a doubt is wellness. The most satisfactory part of my career is getting letters and emails from people who have seen success with my programs.

Q: Do you have a mantra or favorite quote that you’ve used over the years to lose weight or help others lose weight?

I truly believe that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.

I’ve seen it firsthand; not only with myself but with thousands of others who have reached their health and fitness goals.

The simple act of believing in yourself, setting your intention and making a commitment to yourself makes a huge difference when it comes to weight loss!

Q: What’s your story? How did you get to where you are now?

I had been active growing up, and as a cheerleader in high school, I never really thought much about a healthy diet and exercise. You could say I probably took my naturally slim size for granted.

After high school and my active lifestyle ended, I quickly began to gain weight. I was very compulsive in my eating, and I became a big time emotional eater.

I struggled for six years before I finally decided to join a weight loss program so I could figure out how to eat right.

Seeing great results in the first few weeks and losing about 12 pounds right away, I was hooked!

However, it took me years to actually get lean. I experienced a lot of trial and error figuring out what nutrition approach and types of exercise worked best for me.

Eventually, after years of experience and working as a trainer, I had the opportunity to create my own program that ended up selling millions of copies.

Q: What would you say is your nutrition philosophy?

I’ll tell you right away I don’t believe in diets.

I believe in eating several small portioned meals during the day to keep my metabolism working efficiently, and also to not deprive myself too much of foods I enjoy. Balance is everything!

I’m a fan of healthy fats, whole grains, and lean proteins because I know my body is getting the nutrition it needs to function at its best.

I don’t need “cheat days” because I take a more moderate approach to my diet. I’m a firm believer in the 80/20 rule when it comes to eating. Eat clean, healthy foods 80% of the time and enjoy what you want the other 20%.

Q: What are your favorite IdealShape Products?

Q: How do you approach and teach fitness?

When it comes to exercise and fitness, everyone is different.

Some people love running, others yoga, and some enjoy lifting heavy weights. Losing weight and getting fit is really about finding something you love to do and sticking with it.

Fitness should never feel like torture. If it does, you haven’t found something that’s best for you and your lifestyle.

I always advise people to start out slow and easy. Learn to enjoy the process and embrace your journey!

Everyone is at a different place, so don’t compare your beginning, middle, or end to anyone else’s. Love yourself in every moment and make small steps towards your goals. It all adds up!

For me personally, I enjoy the elliptical because it’s easy on my joints and it gets my heart pumping. Core work is a must too!

I love blasting my music and working up a good sweat.

Q: What is your “why” for what you do and for prioritizing wellness?

My reason for healthy eating and regular exercise is that I simply feel so much better!

I actually don’t tolerate “unhealthy” foods as well as I used to anymore.

When I eat poorly and don’t get in any exercise, my stomach goes crazy, I have no energy, and wake up feeling, well, awful!

On the other hand, I love how I feel when I take the time to workout and eat right. I feel less stressed, and more productive and empowered. That is an unbeatable feeling!

Q: What would you say to a reader who is in the beginning or middle of their weight loss journey?

If you want to make a lasting change in your life, it really takes a shift of focus. You have to WANT to make the commitment.

Weight loss isn’t just about getting into a smaller size. It’s about improving your quality of life!

It’s about loving yourself enough to respect your body and take care of it. It’s difficult, and we all slip up at times, but it is more than worth the effort.

You can still empower yourself and feel great no matter what limitations you have.
