L-Carnitine for weight loss

Have you heard of L-carnitines benefits? If you’re like me, you may wonder if there’s some abstract thing that your body could be missing… Like maybe there’s something  you’re deficient in, that would help to make a healthier lifestyle just a bit easier for you.

I’m constantly on the lookout for products that will help my body, l-carnitine is definitely one of them. You’re probably thinking, how the heck can this help me lose weight?

Well sit tight and I’ll break it down for you!

Why Should I Care?

L-Carnitine benefits the body because it is a naturally occurring amino acid that helps in the conversion of fat into energy, one of my favorite processes in the body.

It’s also known as an antioxidant which can be used as a way to neutralize free radicals. Free radicals damage cells and tamper with DNA, in other words they’re the worst and l-carnitine helps block them!

Although everyone’s body produces l-carnitine, having more in your diet may help weight loss efforts, muscle development, energy production, and even helps support heart health. Before your eyes glaze over, let me take off my lab coat and break down the basics!

The Best Benefits of L-carnitine:

  • Increases Fat Loss and Decreases BMI
  • Increases Focus
  • Increases Energy and Muscle Restoration
  • Improves Heart Health and Immune system

Losing weight can be one of the most challenging trials, I’ve been there and I know how hard it can be. Every day is a step towards your goals but can also be a day seemingly full of roadblocks, slip-ups, and retrograding.

Don’t give up! I know weight loss is absolutely doable, with consistent healthy eating habits and exercise anyone can reach their goals. I know that’s easier said than done so for those who need a little extra assistance to stay motivated, l-carnitines benefits can help out.

A lot of us have fitness goals that we are dying to reach and l-carnitine can help you lose weight because of its role in burning fat and bringing energy to your muscles. So it can totally help with getting rid of that unwanted fat because it utilizes the bodies fat storage for energy.

L-carnitine benefits you because it encourages the burning of fat by placing fat into the mitochondria, which then burns it into fatty acids and they go on to produce energy. Essentially you’ll be converting your bodies fat storage into energy more effectively.

Along with that, its ability to strengthen tissue helps with lowering BMI. Body Mass Index is a number based on your weight to height ratio. Studies showed that participants who had supplements of l-carnitine decreased their BMI significantly because were able to lose weight and increase muscle mass.

Some research showed that l-carnitine helped participants lose weight especially when paired with exercise programs. Other studies have shown it to lower fat mass while increasing muscle mass. What a dream! (Cue never-ending heart eye emoji).

Increases Energy

Not only could it help you lose weight but l-carnitine benefits could help you feel not so dang tired all the time. Don’t be fooled, my energy level is not up to par with the energizer bunny every day. It’s definitely still hard for me to get a workout, especially when I am exhausted from running nonstop errands!

So how can l-carnitine help you with energy? Well, it can help you produce energy by stimulating the energy process. Essentially, the fat you burn is going to help you feel more energized.

Fatigue can be detrimental to your weight loss goals. Nothing hurts your workout more than being too sore for the gym, or being too exhausted to make a healthy eating choice. So if that is something you are struggling with, you need to find something that’s going to make a change so that you can have better quality of life.

Increased Muscle Restoration

L-carnitine helps with muscle restoration because your body is less likely to break down muscle tissue because it will be utilizing the fat storage instead. So this means you’ll have better recovery!

Having sore muscles can make it so difficult to want to work out. Which is awful because working out is essential in burning the calories you need to lose weight.

Working out gives you a high basal metabolic rate. As you gain more muscle you are able to then burn more calories even while resting. This will allow you to have an easier time reaching your goals because you’ll be burning more calories even when you’re not moving! (Who doesn’t like the sound of that?).

Improves Heart Health and Immune System

L-carnitine benefits the heart because it generates about 70% of the energy your heart needs, thus supporting the hearts functions. With a healthy heart you can get back to focusing on being active in order to reach your fitness and weight loss goals!

Your organs are also essential for being able to work out, I know that’s super obvious, but it’s true! Your heart is one of the most important organs, and keeping it healthy and functioning at top notch, can be difficult sometimes.

Red meat and dairy products are the main dietary sources of carnitine. Many of us don’t always get too much of that in our diets, especially when we are trying to eat healthy. So that means if you’re not getting enough, you may be deficient which can affect your heart.

Back Over the Basics with L-carnitine

Over all, the benefits of l-carnitine can help your body in the process of burning more fat, losing weight, and providing you with the clarity to get through your day. Does that mean that it is a miracle pill? No, definitely not but that doesn’t mean that it’s not going to help assist you in your fitness needs and make it a little easier to reach your goals.
