5 Morning Weight Loss Hacks You’ll Love

Let’s be real for a second. Morning’s can be TOUGH!

Trust me, I totally get it! As a mom to 3 busy boys, a business owner, and a trainer, my mornings can be anything but glamorous!

Maybe your mornings are a mad rush to get out the door to school, to your job, or to start knocking off a list of errands.

There can be hundreds of reasons why mornings aren’t your “thing,” but… guess what?

When it comes to weight loss, mornings are essential to your goals. From my personal experience and working with my clients, mornings can make or break the rest of your day!

We all have different schedules and things going on, but I’ve compiled a list of 5 helpful habits you can start doing in the morning to pave the way to weight loss success and help you completely own your day.

Let’s hop right to them!

1. Don’t Rush Your Breakfast

Mornings don’t have to be the rushed chaotic mess that they often turn out to be. I know I’ve been there, the kids aren’t moving and you have to get them to school, make sure they have their lunches, and try and fit breakfast in sometime in between.

Or maybe you don’t have kids but you work full time and find yourself rushing out the door not without breakfast. I have three words for you: don’t skip breakfast!

There are several benefits to eating breakfast:

  • It will help you feel full
  • It gets you started out on the right foot
  • It gives you the energy you need
  • It helps you control your hunger so you won’t be trying to snack all the time

Having a delicious, healthy breakfast can make all the difference in your day and help you reach your weight loss goals!

Eating a good amount of protein during breakfast will also help you feel fuller longer because it takes longer to digest.

Feeling dehydrated can give you headaches, make you feel less energized, and make you feel just not feeling on top of your game.

That’s why it’s so important to get hydrated in the mornings. It can actually improve your mood and help you to feel mentally capable of completing your day! It also keeps you feeling energized and awake. Not to mention, drinking water and staying hydrated can help you improve your weight loss efforts.

3. Keep Your Goals In Mind

Keeping your goals in mind will bring so much more focus and direction into your life! You know what they say, a goal not written down is just a dream. It brings a lot more intention to an action when you write something down and plan out your day.

Reviewing your goals in the morning will also make it easier for you to see just how far you come each day! I know that there are times when I feel down. It lifts me up to be able see on paper what goals I’ve already accomplished and see how many hurdles I’ve already overcome.

It really empowers me and makes me feel like I can get through whatever problem life throws my way.

4. Get Some Exercise

Exercise is a great way to wake up in the morning! It makes you feel rejuvenated and can be super fun. Also, no matter how busy you are, you can always squeeze in a quick 15-minute workout. If you have time to get to the gym, great! If the gym isn’t your thing and you’d rather workout at home, that’s also great! Sometimes I even have to do workouts with my kids climbing over me!

Think about it this way, in just a few minutes a day you can rev up your fat burn and really get working towards your goals.

I know that when I start moving in the morning, it takes away that groggy tired feeling and makes me feel fresh and excited. I also love that it helps me to check another thing off of my to-do list. I know that sounds silly, but when you feel like you’ve accomplished one thing already it can be super motivating.

5. Meditate or Do Some Yoga

Okay, if you guys know me, you know how much I love yoga. It always leaves me with the best feeling even if I only have a short time for it. What I love about yoga is it is a great way to help you:

  • Clear your head
  • Tackle some stress
  • Increase your flexibility
  • Burn some calories

It’s Time to Gain More Life

Everyone’s mornings are different, but one thing is for certain: mornings can kick-start your good decisions for the rest of the day and really set the pace. Try as many of these morning hacks you can and be consistent with them. You’ll start to see some amazing results.

The most important thing for you to remember is weight loss is a journey! It’s not something that happens overnight.

By taking small steps and being consistent with them,  you won’t believe the results you can achieve.
