Some people watch the Grammy Awards to find out if their fave movie or actor/actress will win the award.

Other people watch for the red carpet fashion, and other people watch for the entertainment.

What I really love is the excuse to have a party with my boys! I’m down for any excuse to make fun party foods.

But sometimes fun party foods can really pack in unwanted calories and that’s not my kind of party!

If there was an award for making delicious, healthy alternatives to classic high-calorie recipes, the Grammy would go to me.

I’m a strong believer in eating healthy foods that are delicious and filling. That’s right. Dooming yourself to bland “health” food that tastes gross will only spell disaster for your weight loss goals.

So as a self-proclaimed “foodie” and a certified nutritionist, I’m going to give you 5 delicious and healthy party foods that will help you get red carpet ready! ­čśë ┬áBe sure to check out #5, it’s my favorite!

1. Greek Yogurt Spinach Artichoke Dip

Greek Yogurt Spinach Artichoke Dip

Ingredients
1 c plain nonfat Greek yogurt
2 tbsp. Greek yogurt cream cheese
2 c fresh chopped spinach
┬Ż c artichoke hearts, chopped
2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, grated
1 tbsp. minced garlic
salt & pepper to taste
┬╝ c shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix Greek yogurt and cream cheese until smooth. Add spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, and salt and pepper. Mix until just combined. Add mixture to oven safe baking dish and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
2. Bake for 20ÔÇô25 minutes, or until cheese has melted. Serve with chopped veggies, pita bread, or chips. Enjoy!

Serves 4. Serving size: about ┬╝ cup, Calories per serving: 95 / Protein 10g / Carbs 7g / Fat 3g

2. Zucchini Pizza Bites

Healthy mini zucchini pizzas

Ingredients
1 large zucchini
2 tbsp. marinara sauce
┬╝ c low-fat mozzarella cheese
1 oz. mini pepperonis

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut zucchini into 24 circular pieces and lay pieces flat on baking sheet.
2. Using ┬╝ teaspoon, spoon marinara sauce onto each zucchini piece. Top each one with ┬Ż tsp. mozzarella and 1ÔÇô3 mini pepperonis. Bake for 10 minutes and enjoy!

Serves 2. Serving size: 8 pizza bites, Calories per serving: 90 / Protein 5g / Carbs 4g / Fat 7
Prep time: 10 minutes, Bake time: 10 minutes

3. Jalape├▒o Black Bean Salsa

Jalape├▒o Black Bean Salsa

Ingredients
1 can black beans
1 can sweet corn
1 medium tomato, diced
┬Ż c red onion, diced
2 jalape├▒o peppers, diced
1 tbsp. minced garlic
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 tbsp. fresh lime juice

Directions
1. Drain and rinse black beans. Drain corn and mix with tomato, red onion, jalape├▒o, garlic, bell pepper, and cilantro. Add lime juice to top and store in refrigerator. Enjoy!

Makes 5 cups, Serving size: ┬Ż c, Calories per serving: 60 / Protein 3g / Carbs 11g / Fat 1g
Prep time: 10 minutes.

4. Teriyaki Turkey Sliders

Healthy Teriyaki Slider Burger

Ingredients
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 egg, beaten
┬Ż c teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
salt & pepper to taste
12 slider buns
12 fresh pineapple slices
┬Ż red onion sliced
12 small lettuce leaves

Directions
1. Mix ground turkey, egg, ┬╝ c teriyaki sauce, garlic, and salt and pepper. Form into 12 patties and grill until desired doneness.
2. Add patties to slider buns and top with red onion, fresh pineapple slices, lettuce, and 1 tsp. teriyaki sauce to each slider and serve.

Makes 12 sliders, Serving size: 1 slider, Calories per serving: 205 / Protein 13g / Carbs 28g / Fat 5g
Prep time: 30 minutes

5. Jalape├▒o Poppers

Healthy Jalape├▒o Poppers Recipe

Ingredients
┬Ż c plain nonfat Greek yogurt
4 tbsp. Greek yogurt cream cheese
8 large jalape├▒os
2 slices turkey bacon cooked & crumbled
┬╝ c cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Mix Greek yogurt and cream cheese together until smooth. Fold in cheddar cheese.
2. Cut jalape├▒os lengthwise and scrape out any seeds. Spoon cream cheese mixture into each half.
3. Sprinkle crumbled turkey bacon on top of each pepper. Bake for 15- 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Enjoy!

Makes 16 jalape├▒o poppers, Serving size: 2 poppers, Calories per serving: 45 / Protein 4g / Carbs 2g / Fat 2g
