Green St. Patrick’s Day Recipes for Weight Loss

 

On Saint Patrick’s Day, I don’t just wear green…I also eat green! Mostly for health, but also because it’s so much fun to celebrate holidays!

Have you ever noticed that the food surrounding fun holidays is usually full of sugar, carbs, and fat? I have. Definitely not great for weight loss, am I right?

That’s why I compiled some of my favorite IdealShape recipes that are perfect for Saint Patrick’s Day green festivities. Try them out and let me know what you think in the comments!

Chocolate Minty Green Smoothie

Ingredients

2 c raw spinach

1/4 of an avocado

1 scoop Mint Chocolate IdealShake

1 c unsweetened almond milk

Directions

Add ice, blend, and enjoy!

Spinach Berry Smoothie

1 scoop Vanilla IdealShake

1/2 c water

1/2 c orange juice

1/3 c frozen berries

1/4 apple peeled & chopped

1 c fresh spinach

Directions

Add ice, blend, and enjoy!

Green Superfood Smoothie

1/2 c mango

1/2 c strawberries

1 c fresh spinach leaves

1 scoop Vanilla IdealShake Super

1 c frozen peach slices

1 c spinach

1 packet Peach Mango IdealBoost

1 c unsweetened coconut milk

Directions

Add ice, blend, and enjoy!

Servings: 1, Prep time: 2 minutes

Calories per serving: 123, Protein: 2g, Carbs: 21g, Fat: 5g

Key Lime Pie Ice Cream

Ingredients

¼ cup lite coconut milk

2 ripe bananas, frozen

1 scoop Key Lime Pie IdealShake Super

2 tbsp. key lime juice

1 tbsp. honey

1 tbsp. lime zest

1 graham cracker

Directions

Combine all the ingredients together in a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately, or freeze for a firmer ice cream. 

Serves 4, Prep time: 5 minutes, Freeze time: 1 hour

Serving size: 1/3 cup

Calories per serving: 120, Protein 4g,  Carbs 24g, Fat 2g

Green Piña Colada

1 c unsweetened coconut milk

1 scoop Vanilla IdealShake

1/4 of an avocado

3/4 c frozen pineapple chunks

1 c spinach

1 1/2 tsp lime juice

Directions

Add ice, blend, and enjoy!

Serves 1. Calories per serving: 330 / Protein 14g / Carbs 40g / Fat 14g
