You look at yourself in the mirror and hate what you see. You wish you looked completely different. You tell yourself you are starting a diet tomorrow and that you are not going to eat anything that will mess the diet up. No more desserts, chips, or pizza. You are only going to eat lean meat, fruits, and vegetables until you can get your weight down and finally love the body that you see in the mirror.

You start out doing really well. You are keeping track of your calories and eating under your allotted amount. You are working out and feeling good. But then, two weeks into the diet you find yourself slipping up and eating those foods that you swore off. Then you get mad at yourself and just give up altogether only to start the same thing over again a month or two later.

This is what I like to call the all-too-common dieters tale.

It’s a vicious cycle, but it doesn’t have to be!

Instead of starting out diets with feelings of negativity and hatred for our body we need to make healthy lifestyle changes that are fueled by positive motivation.

When our weight loss motivation is positive, we feel love for our bodies. When we feel love for our bodies it’s so much easier to make healthy decisions because we want the best for ourselves. Over time, those healthy behaviors will deliver the rewards that we are looking for!

Small Changes Yield Big Results

When it comes to losing weight and improving overall health, there isn’t one thing that will get us there. It’s a hundred little things, but it all starts with positivity.

When we’re fueled by positive motivation, we have more energy, more confidence, and a greater desire to continue making healthy choices. When we continue making healthy choices, we will eventually see the results that we’ve been chasing!

So next time you start making healthy alterations in your life, instead of doing it to change your “ugly body” that you hate so much, do it because you love yourself and your body and you want to live the healthiest and happiest life that you can!
