Excellent book!! This book opens your eyes to take a step back and think about the issues you may have with dieting, food, obesity etc. Why do some of us feel that it is an “all or nothing” approach when we are dieting and not achieving results right away. I know I could relate to all the stories in the book. I am sure others who have issues with their weight feel they can relate to the stories being told as well. The author brings up a concept called Motivational brain training, which he defines as a “conversation between your subconscious mind and a personal motivational trainer.” The motivational trainer assists in calming your conscious mind to allow positive suggestions to enter your mind. The author provides several exercises in the book to assist the reader to achieve your “ideal shape”. One of my favorite lines in the book is: “You must let go of the past and negative behaviors holding you back, realizing they no longer serve you”. I recommend this book to anyone who has issues with weight, food, dieting etc.
Excellent Book!!! It's amazing how negative thoughts can contribute to weight issues - (toxic brain) as the author calls it. The people story's in the book are so relatable; It's as if my story is being told. One sentence really stood out to me in which the author says "Remember, it is critical to let go of the past and live in the present. Anytime you have a lapse in your journey, just get started again and realize that you now have the mental tools for lasting change". As hard as it is to do sometimes, we need to let go of the past and move forward.
