I really like this, but it does need more spices. I use it in my coffee in the morning for breakfast with just a splash of creamer. I like the fact it has the monk fruit sweetener.
The texture was bad enough (chalky and slightly granular no matter how much I mixed) and then the aftertaste hit. I managed less than half a shake and my entire cup of coffee hasn't eliminated that aftertaste. I was SO excited for Chai because the regular Chai (which was limited edition) was so good. This is just awful. I am throwing away a whole tub.
I was SO excited about this shake because of the Monk fruit sweetener! I thought, "finally!!!" I really wanted to get away from consuming so much of the artificial stuff. I bought both this, and the Vegan Mocha. Big mistake. Extreamy disappointed in the chalky texture. It's not enjoyable to drink, and I wouldn't be able to stay on the program if this were all that was offered. The "vegan" aspect really isn't an issue for me, I just truly wish they would start using Monk fruit in the other flavors. I lost a nice chunk of change on these two flavors. Back to the originals.
So, when I bought this, there was one other review saying that it wasn't as good as the old Vanilla Chai non-vegan shake. I loved the old version so much though that I ignored that review and bought it anyway. Turns out I should have listened. This shake is not tasty. It doesn't taste like chai at all, not nearly enough spices. Also, it is really thick and chalky and leaves a gross pasty substance coating my mouth. I can get it to taste okay by mixing it with more cinnamon and some vanilla, but the chalkiness never goes away. I would not recommend buying this shake mix.
I have loved every flavor I’ve tried from Idealshape, until this flavor. It has a chalky, bad flavor. Does not taste at all like vanilla chia. Really disappointed with this flavor, and honestly will not drink another from this canister.
I was so happy to see a vanilla chai flavor because I loved the limited release IdealShape had a while back, but this tastes nothing like vanilla chai... it tastes more like plain oatmeal. I've found that I have to blend it with fruit, ice, and peanut butter to make it remotely palatable. I ended up throwing almost the entire container away.
